Stepping Stones Book Club
A couple of months ago we formed an intimate book club to focus on human-spiritual growth. The book Hinds Feet on High Places was chosen as a context to delve into our own lives. The story unfolds with the main character, Much Afraid, connecting to her deepest desire for Love, wholeness, and happiness…even as she also struggles with many fear-filled ‘voices’ that often attacked her.
She begins at a low point in her life but grows her trust in something greater than her fearfulness. As we immersed into the book, we came to see ourselves mirrored…our desires, our impediments and struggles, and our willingness to trust the process. And as we were touched by Much Afraid’s discoveries, we connected to our own capacities to transcend our own fears and connect to our wholeness.
We also discovered that by gathering and reading together, we experienced belonging, being seen, being held, and having more capacity to be expressed. These were just a few of the aspects of relating that laid the groundwork for healing, learning, and being more enlivened. This book has truly served as a backdrop and support for our own transformation!
And so birthed the inspiration to offer Stepping Stones Book Club to others! We are now offering others in our lives who wants to grow spiritually and in all areas of their lives.
